Abstract

This National Program is multisectoral policy document applicable to the whole national territory. The development of the Program is due to the lack of a document of national planning policies for the medium-term period in the in the sphere of promotion of the "green" economy in the sectors of the country's socio-economic development: energy efficiency and use of renewable sources, environmentalization of small and medium-sized enterprises, agroecology, sustainable transport, industry (cleaner production and sustainable consumption), sustainable public procurement, construction, education for sustainable development. The transition to a green economy will create significant economic opportunities. "Ecologization" of the economy is a new principle of growth for the Republic of Moldova and a generator of jobs. The objective of the program is mitigation of the following shortcomings: (a) limited possibilities for the promotion of “green” economy in agriculture and environment; (b) the passive position of industrial enterprises regarding the advancement of ecofriendly processes and technologies; and (c) low level of public participation in the promotion of “green” economy.
