Abstract

This National Plan of Action for the conservation and management of sharks and their long-term sustainable use describes the current state of management of sharks in Canada (including the institutional and regulatory framework), identifies existing gaps, and proposes remedial steps that can be implemented for the conservation and management of sharks. It is developed in accordance with the principles and provisions of the International Plan of Action for the Conservation and Management of Sharks (IPOA-Sharks) and takes international commitments into consideration.
