Abstract This Act creates the National Human Rights Commission. The Commission shall perform all or any of the following functions, namely:- a) to investigate any allegation of violation or incitement of violation of human rights by any person, State or Government agency or institution or organization either on its own or on an application filed by the aggrieved person or any other person on his behalf; b) to inquire into any allegation of human rights violation or instigation of violation by any public servant or of negligence in preventing such violation either on its own or on application by the aggrieved person or any other person on his behalf; c) to inspect the living conditions of the inhabitants of prisons or correctional facilities, custody, treatment or other places where people are detained for welfare and to make necessary recommendations to the Government for the improvement of such places and conditions; d) review the measures recognized under the Constitution or any law for the time being in force for the protection of human rights and make recommendations to the Government for their effective implementation; e) review matters including terrorist activities as obstacles to the protection of human rights and recommend appropriate remedies to the Government; f) to research human rights treaties and other international instruments and make recommendations to the Government for their implementation, etc. Full text Bengali Website bdlaws.minlaw.gov.bd
