The timeframe of this Strategic Plan is 5 years between 2016 and 2020. The objectives of this Strategic Plan are to: (I) reduce child mortality by increasing the number of communities with safe drinking water and sanitation, providing access to all health facilities, and collecting accurate data; (II) improve maternal health by reducing maternal mortality, improving family planning practices and knowledge, and increasing the percentage of births in health facilities; (III) improve health and wellbeing of youth and adolescents by developing policies; (IV) reduce the impacts of non-communicable diseases by developing legal and policy frameworks which address high calorie foods and beverages and conducting needs assessments; (V) reduce the number and intensity of food and waterborne outbreaks; (VI) reduce environmental health hazards, (VII) improve health sector responsiveness and quality with a gender-sensitive approach; (VIII) provide access to all health services and facility for all; (IX) improve the coordination of partnerships; (X) increase the number of healthy village initiatives in each province; (XI) strengthen health system at all levels; (XII) improve preparedness and response to emergency and disasters; and (XIII) strengthen health research.
