Abstract This Standard aims to ensure food safety and guarantee the health and life safety of the general public. The standard includes 3,650 indices detailing the maximum allowable residue for 387 pesticides on 284 types of foods. It covers 12 categories of crops or products including vegetables, fruits, cereals, oils and fats, sugar, beverages, seasonings, nuts, mushroom, mammal meat, eggs, poultry and meat. A total of 1,999 indices in the standard have international references set by the Codex Alimentarius Commission. Food varieties and determine areas in Appendix A define the application range of pesticide maximum residue limits.
