Abstract

These Rules set out provisions for the submission of Environmental Monitoring Reports by industrial units. Industrial units shall be classified on the basis of their pollution level into the category for gaseous emissions or liquid effluents (rule 4). All industrial units shall be responsible for correct and timely submission of Environmental Monitoring Reports to the Federal Agency as provided for in rules 5 to 7. The Director General may also classify a large industrial unit with very high pollution levels as a "special industry" (rule 8). Rule 9 specifies the contents of the Environmental Monitoring Report.
