The Marine Protected Area consists of one Restricted Zone and three Coastal Controlled Zones. The Regulations set out general restrictions within the Marine Protected Area including the use of vessels and prohibits fishing in the Restricted Zone. No person may fish, attempt to fish, collect bait or attempt to collect bait in the Coastal Controlled Zones unless they are a registered Tsitsikamma angler and are in possession of a valid recreational angling, or bait permit respectively, issued in terms of the Marine Living Resources Act. The South African National Parks is designated as the management authority for the Marine Protected Area in terms of section 38(1)(aB) of the Act.
