Abstract

With this Notice, the Director-General of the Department of Environmental Affairs, delegates the authority to issue permits relating to the bioprospecting activities involving Indigenous Biological Resources and export from the Republic of Indigenous Biological Resources for the purposes of bioprospecting, to the Director of Resource Use or the acting officer in that position. The delegation, which was received by the Director-General from the Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs under section 42 of the National Environmental Management 1998 and regulation 6(1) of the Bioprospecting, Access and Benefit-Sharing Regulations, 2008, shall be subject to specified conditions.
