Abstract

This Notice of the Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs and made under section 23(1) of the National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act, 2004, establishes emission standards for small boilers (as defined) in terms of section 24 of the Act. The Regulations also provide for, among other things: emission measurement method and analysis; and emission reporting requirements for operators of small boilers. The standards also concern biomass-fuelled boilers. Where a small boiler is fired simultaneously with two or more fuels, the emission standard for the main fuel shall apply.
