Abstract The National Energy Policy is a national policy with a cross-sectoral approach. The timeframe of this Policy is 20 years between 2017 and 2037. The overall purpose of this Policy is to promote responsible and innovative energy supply and consumption. The strategic goals of this Policy are: (I) public awareness-raising through education on sustainable energy, (II) development and implementation of innovative, well researched, environmentally sensitive, and sustainable energy opportunities, (III) infrastructure development for competitive, safe, reliable, efficient and affordable energy production, and (IV) development of sustainable energy industry to ensure socioeconomic and environmental sustainability.
