The Institute shall carry out applied research in the field of: (a) agronomy; (b) livestock; (c) forestry; (d) natural resources, and carry out other research activities assigned by the Board, NGOs and private farmers (reg. 4). The Institute may generate its own funds through contracts, grants, subventions, private or public sector funds (reg. 13).
