Abstract

The Act contains provisions on the prohibition and licensing of fishing in selected waters in the State of Nagaland. The Act also grants the State government to make rules on the sale of fish. Additionally, the Act provides for penalties for violating the provisions of the Act. The breach of any rule made under Section 3 or any prohibition notified under section 4, shall be punished. Maximum amounts acceptable, as compensation for certain fishing offences are specified under Section 8.
