It shall, among other things, enhance technical skill by exchange of information on large dams and coordinate comprehensively for the safety, stability, the impact on the environment, economic and social environments, capacity development, cooperation of science and technology and matters on the investment of the large dams which are constructed, being constructed and will be constructed within Myanmar. The Law defines the duties and powers of the Committee. The Union Government shall form the Patron Body of the Committee at ministerial level. This Body shall form the Committee. The members of the Committee (not more than 45) shall elect the Executive Committee. The Patron Body is entitled to make necessary guidance to the Committee and Executive Committee. The Executive Committee shall form regional and technical and sub-committees.
