At the outset the Regulation contains a definitions clause relating to various terms therein employed, such as, for example, “lubricating oil”, “municipal hazardous or special waste”, “municipal hazardous waste”, “corrosive waste”, “ignitable waste”, and “reactive waste”. Section 2 of the above-mentioned Regulation establishes that municipal hazardous waste or special waste is prescribed as a designated waste for the purposes of the Act. Section 3 specifies that “Stewardship Ontario” is designated as the industry funding organization for the waste diversion programme for municipal hazardous or special waste approved by the Minister under section 26 of the above-mentioned Act.
