Abstract The Multiannual National Public Sector Plan is a national cross-sectoral plan with a duration of four years (2013-2016). It is structured into four pillars that typify the contribution of the public sector to national development to support and advance the objectives in the National Development Strategy 2030. To this end, the Plan is divided into the following lines of work to be driven by the public sector: quality education for everyone; better integrated health and social security; equal rights and opportunities; local development for territorial cohesion; decent housing in a healthy environment; culture and national identity in a globalized world; sport and physical recreation for human development; reliable, efficient and environmentally sustainable energy; competitiveness and innovation; decent jobs creation; production competitively integrated into the global economy; sustainable management of the environment; effective risk management; actions and policies for adequate adaptation to climate change; rule of law and improved public safety; citizen security and peaceful coexistence; and quality of governance.
