Abstract

The provisions of the Order: (a) extend the scope of the previous legislation to cover the presence of disease on means of transport as well as on premises (arts. 4(1) and 7(1)); and (b) enable a veterinary inspector to order or prohibit the movement of animals while investigating whether disease is on the premises or means of transport (art. 8). Infected areas may be declared under article 5. Article 6 concerns restrictions on movement of animals within and out of an infected area. Article 9 provides for cleansing and disinfection.
