Abstract This programme, as for the purposes of the Law on food of the Republic of Srpska, prescribes the manner of monitoring the residues of plant protection products in food of plant origin, conditions and manner of taking and storing samples. Monitoring of residues of plant protection products in food of plant origin is carried out with the aim of: 1) consumer health protection; 2) determining whether agricultural producers in Republika Srpska are complying with good agricultural practices; 3) reducing the risk of consumer exposure to defective food of plant origin; 4) exclusions from the trade of food of plant origin which does not meet the requirements of the maximum prescribed quantities of residues of plant protection products.
