Abstract

The CITES Secretariat drafted the Model Law on International Trade in Wild Fauna and Flora, which is a "template" that provides examples of provisions that Parties may use as inspiration for developing their own legislation in implementation of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), with a view to ensure that no species of wild fauna and flora becomes or remains subject to unsustainable exploitation because of international trade.
