Abstract

This Regulation classifies hunting as commercial (requiring the delivery of game to state or cooperative organizations), artisanal or sport hunting (using game for personal consumption). Russian adult nationals shall be granted hunting rights following payment of a hunting permit fee and passage of a test on hunting rules and regulations, methods and safety and on the firearm management. Inhabitants of the Far North shall be granted hunting rights with the use of firearms from the age of 14 years. Foreign nationals shall be granted artisanal and sport hunting rights by special authorization. Hunting shall be carried out in accordance with a permit, which must be carried during the hunting season. The use of small-bore rifles, carabines with rim-fire cartridges and unregistered hunting rifles shall be prohibited on national territory. The Regulation establishes the hunting season for wild animals and birds as and the season for capturing songbirds. It also specifies illegal hunting gear and methods, including poaching, and establishes liability for their use.
