The Law also defines functions and powers of the Ministry and provides with respect to its administration. The Ministry shall, among other things: control and manage all water resources facilities vested under the provisions of this Law in the Ministry; ensure water supply and sewerage services at reasonable charge and in potable quality and adequate quantity where applicable; establish measures for the prevention and control of floods and pollution of water; monitor sources of toxic pollution in water and offer necessary advice to industrial establishments; prepare a comprehensive water resources management master plan.
