Abstract The present Regulations provide for the continuation of the Department of Environment as the Ministry of Environment. The objects and purposes of the Ministry of Environment are the following: a) to provide the structure wherein and whereby the powers, responsibilities and functions of the Minister of Environment may be exercised and carried out; b) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programmes of the Government related to the conservation of non-renewable resources and energy; c) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and enforce policies and programmes of the Government relating to the conservation, preservation, management, protection and development of fish, wildlife, air, water, resource lands and other renewable resources in Saskatchewan; d) to co-ordinate, develop, implement and enforce policies and programmes of the Government relating to the stewardship of the province’s water resources.
