The objects and purposes of the Ministry of Energy and Resources are the following: a) to provide the structure wherein and whereby the powers, responsibilities and functions of the Minister of Energy and Resources may be exercised and carried out; b) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programmes of the Government for the economic and orderly development of minerals and mineral resources; c) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programmes of the Government related to: i) the exploration for, development of and management of non-renewable resources; and(ii) the development and management of energy; d) to work together with business, communities, governments and departments to support and encourage the growth and development of the Saskatchewan forest industry; e) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programmes of the Government of Saskatchewan to: i) to enhance the competitiveness of the Saskatchewan forest industry; ii) to increase investment in the Saskatchewan forest industry; and iii) to support and encourage value-added production in the Saskatchewan forest industry.
