Abstract

This Law is composed of 26 articles. Article 1 gives terms and definitions. Article 2 defines fields of application. Article 3 defines kinds of fertilizers and requirements for fertilizers and agricultural amendments. Article 4 lays down requirements, conditions and measures for advertising fertilizers and agricultural amendments. Article 5 defines requirements and conditions for the packaging of fertilizers and agricultural amendments. Article 6 specifies requirements, conditions and measures for the examination, control and analysis of fertilizers and agricultural amendments. Article 7 specifies objectives of the analysis. Articles 8 and 9 deal with the right of concerned persons to object against results of analysis and present the complaints to the appropriate department. Article 11 provides for measures to be taken against fertilizers and agricultural amendments that do not comply with the provisions of the Act. Article 12 defines requirements and measures for producing and manufacturing fertilizers and agricultural amendments. Article 13 pertains to applications and documents necessary for licences. Article 15 prohibits the circulation of fertilizers and agricultural amendments before their registration. Article 19 defines requirements and measures for the importation of fertilizers and agricultural amendments. Articles 20 and 21 deal with documents and certificates to be supplied at the arrival of fertilizer consignments. Article 23 entrusts the appropriate Authorities to control and monitor industries producing fertilizers and agricultural amendments. Article 25 gives 6 months to the persons residing in UAE to regulate their position according to provisions of this Law.
