Entry into force notes
This Ministerial Order enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Ministerial Order delegates, in the context of the management and planning of the coastal zone and beaches, the decentralized entities, namely in the Provincial Governments and in the coastal Municipal Councils, to exercise in the respective territorial circumscription the administration and planning of the coastal zone and beaches, the installation of mandatory authorization for sporting, religious, cultural and recreational activities, the policing of the coastal zone and beaches and the protection and safety of bathers. The purpose of this Ministerial Order is that decentralized entities ensure that coastal zones and beaches, common use assets of the people, fulfill their socio-environmental function, obeying the principles of integrated and shared territorial management, respect for diversity and decentralization, as well as rationalization and efficiency of use, promoting the correct use and occupation of the coastal zone and beaches.
