This Ministerial Order enters into force on 1 January and expires on 15 March 2024.
Abstract

This Ministerial Order, under Law No. 22/2013, establishes the effective period of prohibition for surface shrimp fishing in the areas between the parallels 16º South and 19º 47' South: from January 1, 2024 to March 14, 2024, inclusive, for industrial and semi-industrial fishing vessels, with ice storage and freezing on board; the coordinates that extend from the coast to a line joining the point 19º 47´? South and 35º 00' East, with the point 21º 00' South and '35º 11' East: from January 1, 2024 to March 14, 2024, inclusive, for semi-industrial motor trawling fishing vessels, conservation ice and freezing on board. The prohibition period applies exclusively to the following fishing vessels, fishing gear, fish transport and establishments: a) gill nets known as “chithamuthamo”; b) land and onboard trawl nets (manual and motor); c) bottom gill nets; d) wholesale and retail fish sales outlets; e) vehicles and other means used to transport fish; f) fish processing establishments; g) all fishing vessels used to capture surface shrimp.
