This Ministerial Order enters into force on 1 January and expires on 15 March 2024.
Abstract

This Ministerial Order, under Law No. 22/2013, establishes the effective prohibition on surface shrimp fishing, in the period from January 1, 2024 to March 14, 2024, in the areas between the parallels 16º South and 19º 47' South: from January 1, 2024 to March 14, 2024, inclusive, for industrial and semi-industrial motor trawling fishing vessels, with freezing conservation on board; the coordinates that extend from the coast to a line joining the point 19º 47´ South and 35º 00' East, with the point 21º 00' South and '35º 11' East. The prohibition period applies exclusively to the following fishing vessels, fishing gear, fish transport and markets: a) Pure-seine to land and on board (manual and motorized); b) wholesale and retail fish sale establishments; c) vehicles and other means used to transport fish; d) processing establishments; e) all fishing vessels used to capture surface shrimp.
