Abstract

This Ministerial Order, under Law No. 22/2013 establishes the closed season for mangrove crab fishing throughout the coastal zone of Mozambique, from November 1st to December 31st 2023, for all artisanal fishers and fishing operators carrying out the activity of catching and harvesting mangrove crabs. The closed season for mangrove crab fishing has been established throughout the coastal zone of Mozambique, from November 1st to December 31st, 2023, for all fishing operators who carry out the activity of catching and harvesting mangrove crabs. Processing establishments that handle, process and sell mangrove crab in the national territory are prohibited from acquiring, transporting, selling, handling or processing mangrove crab, from production and collection, in the period between November 1 to December 31, 2023. To this end, fishing companies and operators must submit to the competent local Fish Inspection authorities a declaration of the existence of raw material and final product by October 31, 2023.
