Abstract This Ministerial Order approves the Internal Regulation of CENACARTA, IP, Category B institution with the objective of ensuring the implementation of policies, directing, planning, coordinating, implementing, monitoring and approving geo-cartographic and remote sensing activities throughout the national territory. In particular, the responsibilities of CENACARTA are: a) establish policies, standards and technical norms for surveying and cartographic work carried out in the national territory; b) cover the national territory with geodetic networks of adequate density and precision; c) guarantee the availability of basic cartography of the territory; d) acquire, archive and distribute digital geographic information about the National territory; e) acquire and process aerospace images in digital or photographic form; f) reproduce films and other products requested by users; g) archive space products covering all or part of the Mozambican territory; h) train national staff in the technical processes of processing digital images and visual remote sensing documents; i) implement and coordinate activities in these areas; j) carry out studies and providing technical advice; and k) create aerial photographs, photographic mosaics, orthophoto plans, topographic maps, thematic maps and other special maps.
