The Decree enters into force on the date of publication in the Official Gazette.
Abstract

Following the issuance of Directive 98/72/EC amending Directive 95/2/EC on food additives other than colours and sweeteners, this Decree aims at harmonizing the provisions contained in the Food Code related to this topic with the provisions of the aforementioned Directives. Therefore, the Decision by the Supreme Council of Chemistry adapting the Food Code and a series of Presidential Orders to the provisions regarding food additives other than colours and sweeteners is hereby approved. More specifically, articles of the Food Code Nos. 33, 34, 37, 38, 40, 41, 48, 61, 70, 78, 80, 81, 83, 84, 87, 90, 91, 93, 98, 99, 103, 104, 111, 112, 113, 114, 115, 119, 120, 121, 122, 123, 124, 125, 131, 132, 135, 137, 139, 141, 144, 145, 148, 149 are amended or replaced. Presidential Orders Nos. 513/83, 518/83, 526/83 are amended as well. As from 4 November 2000, placing on the market of products not complying with the provisions of this Decree shall be prohibited.
