Abstract

This Decision establishes supplementary measures for the smaller Aegean islands concerning the production of special quality honey, in compliance with EEC Regulations Nos. 2019/93/EEC and 3063/93/EEC (as amended by other Regulations). Aid shall be granted for the production of quality honey specific to the Aegean islands, containing a large proportion of thyme honey. The aid shall be paid to groups of honey producers, recognized in accordance with EEC Regulation No. 1360/78 on the basis of the number of registered production hives, which undertake to implement annual programmes of initiatives designed to improve the conditions under which quality honey is marketed and promoted. The text includes control provisions (article 9) and two Annexes.
