Abstract

The present Decree regulates the modalities for authorizing eggs packing centres to use certain names relating to the farming system, the origin of eggs, the laying date and the type of feedstuffs used for hens nutrition and related checks. First of all, authorized packing centres may indicate on eggs, packages and storage the farming system that has been used, provided that the minimum requirements for eggs production referred to in Annex I have been met. Article 4 provides for the establishment of the National Register of Producers which farm hens by following one of the systems defined by article 1, paragraphs a) and b). Furter indications that may be provided on the eggs, packages or storage concern the origin of eggs (art. 6), the type of feeding (art. 7) and the laying date (art. 8).
