Ministerial Decree of 16 October 1998 approving the guidelines for the organization of the Service of Hygiene of Food and Nutrition (S.I.A.N.) division of the Department of prevention of the local health unit.

The Service of Hygiene of Food and Nutrition is divided in two functional areas: the Area for the control of Hygiene of Foodstuffs and Beverages, and the Nutritional Area. The Area for the control of Hygiene of Foodstuffs and Beverages shall verify the compliance with the health norms of all the stages of production and distribution of food and beverages. The Service will also be involved in the check of suspect cases of infection and intoxication from foodstuffs, protection of potable waters, s
