Abstract This Decree consisting of 4 articles aims at protecting local wild species distributed across the country, dividing them between endangered, vulnerable, and near-threatened. It (i) classifies 42 species of wild plants; (ii) prohibits their cutting, uprooting or damage; (iii) allows local authorities, in coordination with the Ministry of Environment and Water, to issue permits only in exceptional cases, such as restoration of protected species or rehabilitation of their natural habitats, conservation of their genetic resources within or outside their natural habitats, or their use for any purposes that do not affect their sustainability.
