Federal Supervision is posted under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Public Health and Social Development. The main functions of the Federal Supervision are: 1) organization and carrying out state sanitary and epidemiological survey, survey of consumer market and in the sphere of the protection of consumers’ rights; 2) prevention, exposure and suppression of the infringement of the Russian legislation in its sphere of competence; 3) carrying out licensing in its sphere of competence; 4) carrying out sanitary and quarantine control at state border; 5) carrying out state registration of potentially harmful products and objects for human health; 6) carrying out sanitary and epidemiological investigations aimed at the exposure of the origin and conditions of spreading of infectious diseases and mass non-infectious diseases (poisoning); 7) organization and carrying out arrangements aimed at exposure and elimination of the impact of hazardous and harmful environmental factors on human health.
