Abstract This Resolution consisting of 15 articles aims to simplify and unify at national level measures on the control of food imported for non-commercial reasons; protect the health from diseases arising from food; and contribute to increasing food security and ensure the safety of food on the local market. The provisions of this Resolution apply to: food imported for personal use, in accordance with the types and amounts specified in Annex 1 (articles 3 – 5); food samples for scientific purposes (article 6); food samples for supply and marketing studies (article 7); and the food, not for sale, used in exhibitions (article 8). For all these categories of food, the Decree sets out the conditions that allow them to enter the UAE. Article 10 addresses the procedures to be followed by the competent authorities.
