Veterinarian surgeon shall obligatorily take meat samples in the course of post-mortem examination of swine at abattoirs. Samples shall be taken from each carcass and shall be examined with the application of one of the following tests: (a) fermentation method; and (b) trichinelloscopic examination. Pork meat obtained domestic animals that was frozen under the supervision of competent sanitary and veterinary body shall not be examined for the presence of porkworm. Safe meat shall be marked thus confirming product safety for human consumption. Beginning from 1 January 2010 all the meat shall be examined with the application of fermentation method.
