Chief Forest Management Directorate shall carry out the following tasks and functions: (a) enforcement of forest legislation; (b) state forest management; (c) registration of state forest fund; (d) forest fire prevention; (e) afforestation and reforestation; (f) protection against pests, diseases, illegal logging and desertification of agricultural land; (g) enforcement of hunting legislation and (h) procurement of medicinal plants.
