Abstract

Federal Mining and Industrial Supervision (GOSGORTEHNADZOR) is Federal Executive Body that carries out the conforming normative regulation, special authoritative, control and supervision functions in the field of industrial safety, as well as, within its sphere of competence, in the field of protection and use of subsoil. Federal Mining and Industrial Supervision is authorized to carry out organization and realization of state supervision over safety standards of exploration of subsoil, including geological study of subsoil for the purpose of strict observation by all users of subsoil of the requirements established by the Russian Legislation as regards prevention and elimination of hazardous impact on the population, environment, buildings and edifices, as well as for the protection of subsoil. Federal Mining and Industrial Supervision is also authorized to carry out, within the limits of its sphere of competence, state control over the rational use and the protection of subsoil and to carry out state supervision over the safety of waterworks belonging to the organizations under its surveillance.
