Abstract State fund of data on the state of environment and environmental pollution is set up for the purpose of collection, registration, storage and use of documents of observation, expeditionary activity as a result of which data is formed on the state of natural environment having scientific, applied and historic importance. Documentation of the fund is sub-divided into the following groups: 1) documents regarding keeping the fund; 2) technical documentation (data) of the producers of information on the state of environment and pollution thereof; 3) documents containing information on the state of environment and pollution thereof; 4) documents of scientific research and expeditionary activity in the sphere of hydrometeorological activity; 5) published documents in the sphere of hydrometeorological activity. Access to information on the state of environment and pollution thereof is guaranteed from the moment of its entry into the fund. Information on the state of environment and pollution thereof contained in the documentation of the fund, except for data of limited access, is open to the general public.
