Abstract

This Ministerial Decree establishes general and hygienic requirements for recreational waterbodies, organization, re-organization and operation thereof. The basic principles shall be to prevent health risks for the population, quality control of environment, rational use of natural resources and improvement of recreational water areas. The issuance of sanitary authorization for recreational water areas shall be compulsory. Recreational water areas shall be located in the most favourable environmental zones with the presence of forests and favourable land form ensuring the absence of landslide and eddy current with water flow not exceeding 0,5 met/sec without acute fluctuation of water level. Waterbodies authorized for recreational water use shall ensure: (a) water quality; (b) availability of ways of access; and (c) safe bed. Breeding of waterfowl and timber extraction in recreational water areas shall be prohibited.
