Abstract

This Ministerial Decree establishes the modalities for the payment of subsidies to increase the productivity and quality of agricultural crops within the limits envisaged by the annual budget of the Ministry of Agriculture. The aforesaid subsidies shall be earmarked to partially compensate the cost of mineral pesticides, seed disinfectants and herbicides purchased by national producers of agricultural commodities. Traders of mineral pesticides, seed disinfectants and herbicides shall be considered legal persons and shall enter into annual contracts with the Ministry to validate the range of their products. The cost of their products shall be set in accordance with scientifically substantiated norms regarding the application of mineral pesticides, seed disinfectants and herbicides for areas under cultivation. The cost of such products shall be set by the Ministry, of which consumers shall pay 60 percent and the Ministry shall pay the remaining 40 percent.
