The Committee has under its jurisdiction zonal fisheries inspections. The main tasks of the Committee shall be: (a) policy-making; (b) supervision over stock enhancement and repopulation; (c) fish farming and acclimatization of alien species. The Committee shall carry out the following functions: (a) elaboration of the fisheries legislation; (b) supervision over compliance with fisheries requirements; (c) research; (d) registration of fish stocks, rare and endangered species; (e) issuance of fishing permits; (f) fish farming; (g) international cooperation; (h) issuance of export authorization for sturgeon species.
