Abstract

This Ministerial Decree establishes the modalities of management and disposal of hazardous waste originating from lighting equipment and electric lamps mismanagement, incorrect disposal or transportation of which could be harmful to human health and environment. It shall be compulsory for legal persons, individual entrepreneurs servicing condominiums in accordance with contracts, and also for natural persons. Consumers of mercury containing lamps (except for natural persons) shall amass outspent lamps separately from other waste that shall be subsequently transported in accordance with the modalities set for transportation of hazardous waste to deactivation sites. Deactivation of outspent mercury containing lamps shall be carried out by specialized organizations ensuring recycling thereof by methods complying with sanitary, hygienic and ecological requirements.
