The list includes the following types of activity prohibited in the central ecological zone of the Baikal protected environmental area: forestry with the use of dangerous plant protection means, timber extraction and clean cutting, while in cedar forests is prohibited any kind of felling except for improvement cutting and selective sanitation cutting, laying-in of soft resin, timber-rafting including rivers flowing into the Baikal lake, drainage of effluent water and waste disposal as regards storage, burial and neutralization of hazardous industrial waste.
