Abstract

This Ministerial Decree regulates the processing, trade, import, packaging, labelling, storage and transport of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Trade in GMOs shall be authorized only following safety certification and state registration. Only state-registered GMOs may be imported, with the exception of samples imported for registration testing. Packaging materials and modalities shall comply with all relevant food safety requirements. Conveyances used to transport GMOs shall have a sanitary certificate issued by the competent sanitary authority.
