Abstract

Premier, for the purpose of regulation of protection and management single micro-populations of aurochs (Bison bonasus) decrees to assign to aurochs inhabiting the national territory the status of main genetic resources for species inhabiting protected areas and national parks and the status of reserve genetic resources for species inhabiting other areas of the national territory. Protection and management of species pertaining to main genetic resources shall be carried out in accordance with the modalities envisaged for protected species recorded in the Red Book while as regards species pertaining to reserve genetic resources shall be applicable the modalities envisaged for game subject to hunting in accordance with hunting authorization valid for one occasion only.
