Abstract

This Ministerial Decree sets the safety requirements for bread, baked goods and confectionary products. It shall not apply to infant food, dietary or medicinal products, raw materials or products containing GMOs, or to homemade foodstuffs. Labels must contain the following information: (a) product description; (b) technical identification indices; and (c) manufacturing method. Trade of bread, baked goods and confectionary products shall be authorized if accompanied by: (a) a compliance certificate and sanitary and epidemiological certificate; and (b) complete information in labels and accompanying documentation. Under safety requirements for bread, baked goods and confectionary products, the end product must: (a) be made from raw materials that comply with technical standards and sanitary and epidemiological requirements; (b) comply with organoleptic indicators for the relevant category; (c) comply with composition established by technological formulation and normative documents; (d) contain only authorized food additives; (e) comply with safety labelling, packaging, storage and transportation requirements; and (f) comply with ecological purity requirements.
