Land monitoring shall be an integral part of environmental monitoring. All land on the territory of the Russian Federation shall be subject to monitoring regardless of ownership, use or type of land tenure. The following categories of land shall be monitored: (a) agricultural land; (b) urban land; (c) industrial, transport, defence and other categories of land; (d) protected areas; (e) forest land; (f) land pertaining to waterbodies; and (g) reserve land.
