Abstract

This Ministerial Decree implements the 1985 Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer and the 1987 Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. It establishes that, as from 1 August 1999, ozone-depleting substances shall be manufactured in accordance with quotas set by the State Committee on environmental protection, in agreement with the Ministry of Economy. As from 20 December 2000, ozone-depleting substances shall be manufactured exclusively for use as components in the manufacture of other chemicals. Beginning from 1 July 2000, the construction of new facilities for the manufacture of ozone-depleting substances shall be prohibited.
