Ministerial Decree No. 456 validating Technical Regulation “On safety of iodinated salt”.

This Ministerial Decree shall be applicable for the purpose of ensuring protection of human life and health in the process of consumption of iodinated salt, and also prevention of fraud and deceit of consumers by the producers and distributors of alimentary iodinated salt. Objects of technical regulation shall be: (a) safety of alimentary iodinated salt for consumers; and (b) processing, handling, transportation, storage and trade of iodinated salt. Traceability and identification of iodinated salt shall be performed for consumer protection against fraud and establishment of product compliance. Identification of alimentary iodinated salt shall be responsibility of the producer. Labelling must be written in both state and official languages.
